The Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry has constantly progressed throughout its years of service. Its clearly their drive to serve the Boholanos that has allowed them to be a success. The following are their activities for 2008:
Issues and Concerns regarding Tagbilaran City Tax Compliance Initiative was presented and discussed by Dr. Nick Fontanilla of the Asia Pacific Center for Research (ACRE) during Board Meeting on August 7, 2008 at Amarela Resort. BCCI and the City Government of Tagbilaran were in direct collaboration in evaluating with ACRE Consultancy in the effort to increase local revenues.
Tagbilaran City Road Map and Balance Scorecard was presented and discussed during BCCI Special Board Meeting on August 13, 2008 at MetroCenter Hotel with Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Lim. Tagbilaran City was dubbed as one of the “dream cities” by the International Solidarity in Asia Foundation. With this distinction, the City Government together with BCCI crafted a 15-year road map for progress – a tool for achieving performance excellence.
Preparation on BCCI’s 50th year celebration was one of the things discussed during the BCCI Board Meeting on Sept 4, 2008 at Bohol Tropics Resort.
Her Excellency, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo inducted the newly elected RDC Chair Gwendolyn Garcia (Cebu Governor) and Co-Chair Norris C. Oculam (BCCI president) on October 12, 2008 at Cebu Provincial Capitol.

The BCCI President together with the Provincial Governor Erico B. Aumentado at Local Steering Committee Meeting of the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP II) – a project that oversees and discusses concerns regarding the processing of land titles in Bohol.
BCCI President Norris Oculam delivered his welcome address during the celebration of the 1st Bohol-Jiangxi Friendship Day held on May 8, 2008 at the Bohol Beach Club which was hosted by the Provincial Government and BCCI. This historic visit was to finally initiate both local governments’ agreement to conduct exchange and cooperation in the fields of administration, economy, tourism, culture, education, trade and industry.
Photos below show the Tourism trip in Thailand last March 10-11, 2008 for the development of the Ecotourism Services Standards in Bohol which was participated by BCCI through its representatives VP for External Affairs Fortunato H. Lim and Trustee Lucas Nunag.

BCCI President Norris Oculam together with the delegation from the Provincial Government of Bohol visited Malaysia last July 30-August 3, 2008 to attract investors to invest in Bohol and at the same time ensures environmental safety of the plant.
